The character, played by Jon Bernthal; is probably the role the actor is best well-known for other than The Punisher. Whether you loved him or hated him, you can’t deny the lasting presence Rick’s former friend has on the show. Mentioned throughout the seasons, it was even revealed that the leader of Alexandria knows that his daughter Judith is not biologically his, but Shane’s, from the affair his deceased wife Lori had with him.
Jon Bernthal had been spotted with cast members of The Walking Dead, but the internet had dispelled these rumors, as the actors are all friends. These photos now seemingly ruined the surprise of Bernthal’s return:
“We tried to get something out of Scott Gimple, chief content officer for all things Dead, but he was still bummed that Jon Bernthal’s ‘surprise’ guest appearance had been spoiled when ‘photographs came out like a moment after he landed in Georgia,'” Ausiello said. “So all he’d say was that Shane’s appearance involves ‘some very cool, very heavy stuff.'”
How they’ll re-introduce Shane, we don’t know. But, we do know The Walking Dead returns October 7th! We’ll just have to wait to see how Shane is integrated in, whether it’ll be a flashback, dream sequence, or whatever else they come up with.
