When the first trailer dropped, it received positive praise from both critics and viewers alike. Now, we are learning that the movie will undergo some additional (though, typical for movies) photography and reshoots. The movie is reportedly being given some additional weeks past their November schedule to allow the completion of these photographs and film footage. The new date for the estimated end time is December 22nd, whereas it was originally November 18th.
This could all be due to the film having a wintery feel and since the new end date is only a few days away from Christmas, it’s possible that the spirit of the holiday is wanting to be captured around that time. It’s certainly a present for everyone, as the studio has increased the budget for the movie, which will, in turn, give us an even better film than we originally intended.
Shazam! hits theaters April 5, 2019.
