Showtime’s drama pilot The President is Missing has brought in Michael Rooker as a series regular. Rooker will join David Owelowo as the lead, as well as Janet McTeer, Medina Senghore, Paul Adelstein, and Gina Gallego.
The President is Missing is based off of the book of the same name by James Patterson and Bill Clinton. The series will focus around Oyelowo’s powerless and politically aimless Vice President James Martin. Half through his administration’s first term, he becomes the president. Due to this, he walks into a secret and world-threatening crisis that takes place both inside and outside of the White House. Martin will be attached by friends and families and be crushed by scandal. With all of this weighing on his shoulders, he must decide whether or not to take a stand.
Rooker will play Greg Parkes, who is the special agent in charge of the VP protection detail. Protecting Martin has “proved more than a warrior like Parkes can bear”.
