Sony Pictures In Initial Planning Stages for ‘Venom’ Sequel

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”12940″ img_size=”800×450″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]When a film you produced earns over 800 million at the Box Office, a sequel not only makes financial sense, it is basically inevitable. Thus when Venom made a cool $855 million worldwide, the only question was when Sony would put the wheels in motion to make it happen. Some of those questions have been started to come into focus.

Variety reports that Kelly Marcel, who was one of the screenwriters for Venom has been pegged to write the script for the sequel. In addition to her scripting chores, she will also be one of the Executive Producers for the film which will bring back Tom Hardy for the titular role along with Michelle Williams and Woody Harrelson as Carnage. Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach and Amy Pascal are slated to return as producers.

With a possible release slated for October 2020, are you excited to see a sequel for the unexpectedly lucrative moneymaker? Will the fact that it will once again most likely be a PG-13 film make a difference to you this go-around? Share your symbiotic thoughts with us at GVNation.
