Sony To Celebrate The 30th Anniversary Of 'The Cable Guy' With 4K UHD Blu-Ray Debut This October

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has officially announced that the out-of-control comedy The Cable Guy will be available to own on 4K UHD Blu-Ray in a Limited Edition SteelBook on October 6, 2026, to celebrate its 30th anniversary. Directed by Ben Stiller, the film stars Jim Carrey, Matthew Broderick, Leslie Mann, and George Segal. The disc provides the film restored in 4K resolution from the Original Camera Negative with Dolby Vision and a Dolby Atmos upgrade, plus new and archival special features, all in a stylish package. Synopsis: Jim Carrey is Chip Douglas, cable installer. Raised on television sitcoms, he wants life to look just like My Three Sons. And when he meets single guy Steven Kovacs (Matthew Broderick), he sees his chance for some serious male bonding. But Chip’s idea of friendship – which includes physical assault, a game of ‘Porno Password’ and a medieval joust – may be hazardous to Steven’s health. In Chip’s own immortal words, “I can be your best friend…or your worst enemy.” Directed by Ben Stiller (Tropic Thunder, Zoolander), and co-starring Leslie Mann, Jack Black, and Owen Wilson.
