Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has officially announced that the iconic original horror classic 28 Days Later will be available to own on 4K UHD Blu-Ray in a Limited Edition SteelBook on September 1, 2026. Directed by Danny Boyle, the film stars Cillian Murphy, Naomie Harris, Christopher Eccleston, Megan Burns and Brendan Gleeson. The disc provides the film restored in 4K resolution from the original elements, as approved by Danny Boyle, with Dolby Vision and a Dolby Atmos upgrade, plus archival special features, all in a stylish package. Synopsis: Waking from a coma in a deserted London hospital, bicycle courier Jim (Academy Award®-winner Cillian Murphy, 2023 Best Actor, Oppenheimer) takes to the deserted city streets in a state of mystified confusion. Joining forces with another group of survivors, Jim soon learns that a deadly virus was released. Is there still a glimmer of hope for humanity — or has the deadly “rage” virus found its way to foreign shores and infected the entire planet?

- To fully capture and correctly present the unique visuals of this movie for its 4K High Dynamic Range debut, the assembled original source video was used along with the section from original camera negative as used in the original theatrical release.
