Sony To Release The Academy Award Nominated Nic Cage Dramedy 'Adaptation' On 4K UHD Blu-Ray

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has officially announced that the unique, beloved Spike Jonze comedy-drama Adaptation will be available to own for the first time on 4K UHD Blu-Ray on December 6, 2022 in honor of its 20th anniversary. The film was nominated for four Academy Awards including Best Actor for Nicolas Cage, Best Actress for Meryl Streep, Best Adapted Screenplay for Charlie Kaufman, and a Best Supporting Actor win for Chris Cooper.

The new 4K disc has been remastered in 4K resolution from the original camera negative. The disc is presented with Dolby Vision and includes all-new Dolby Atmos audio as well as the original 5.1 audio. Get additional details below!

Synopsis: Director Spike Jonze delivers a stunningly original comedy that seamlessly blends fictional characters and situations with the lives of real people: obsessive orchid hunter John Laroche (Chris Cooper, in an Academy Award®-winning performance, 2002, Best Supporting Actor), New Yorker journalist Susan Orlean (Meryl Streep), Hollywood screenwriter Charlie Kaufman (Nicolas Cage), and his twin brother, Donald (also Cage). As Charlie struggles to adapt Orlean’s best-selling book “The Orchid Thief,” he writes himself into his own movie. The various stories crash into one another, exploding into a wildly imaginative film. ADAPTATION is at once a hilarious drama and a moving comedy, now celebrating its 20^th anniversary.
