The real-life Kwik-E mart isn’t just for drinks and food, you will also have your pick of plenty of merchandise, such as plush dolls, magnets, glassware and clothing items. As for why there was a need to put up a Simpsons centric store, Mark Cornell, Senior VP, Attractions Development for SimEx-Iwerks Entertainment stated:

“Broadway at the Beach is like no other location. It really draws a lot of foot traffic, walking around, and I think it’s the perfect sort of first place. I think the Simpsons would come to Myrtle Beach for a vacation.”

While this announcement is any fan’s dream, the subject of Kwik-E’s store-owner Apu has recently come out under fire. When the racist undertones of the store owner’s character, Simpsons decided to address this subject while…pretty much telling the viewers to get over it. Hank Azaria, a Jewish Spanish American; stated he would be willing to step down from voicing Apu, realizing that he had been perpetuating a racist stereotype with Apu.

You can go visit the Kwik-E Mart now and await the 30th season of The Simpsons September 30th.
