SOUTH PARK: THE COMPLETE TWENTY-FOURTH SEASON includes the Pandemic episode, which was the highest rated and most-watched cable comedy telecast of 2020, followed by the Vaccination episode, which was the highest rated original cable comedy telecast of 2021. In the latest must-own season, Randy comes to terms with his role in the COVID-19 outbreak as the on-going pandemic presents continued challenges to the citizens of South Park. The kids happily head back to school, but nothing resembles the normal that they once knew; not their teachers, not their homeroom, not even Eric Cartman.

Video Quality
South Park: The Complete Twenty-Fourth Season comes to Blu-Ray with a stunning transfer that is as bright and detailed as you have come to expect from the show. The show has been functioning largely in the same groove for the past several years, so there are no big surprises in store. Fine lines and details are crisp and maintained well without any bleeding into other segments. You may spot the occasional issue with banding in the background, but most will probably overlook it unless you are out to do so. Colors are vibrant and bold throughout these two specials without being too detailed or nuanced due to the production style. This is a perfectly clear presentation free of any dirt or debris. South Park keeps up the high level of quality it has always displayed on Blu-Ray.
Audio Quality
The Blu-Ray comes with a strong and faithful Dolby TrueHD 5.1 soundtrack that should not disappoint anyone. There are some environmental sound effects from the police shooting people or animals making noises when they are being molested that provide a dynamism to the track. Dialogue is given priority in the mix with a crisp, clear presentation in the center speaker that subtly creeps into surrounds during moments where it is necessitated by the narrative. Music is forthright with impeccable fidelity and stings accentuating certain scenes in the rear channels. The show employs a good use of environmental effects that are directionally accurate within the mix. While not the most sonically ambitious series, this series offers up plenty of chances to show off a bit of unexpected complexity.

Final Thoughts
South Park: Season 24 is not your typical season of the show, which only makes sense with it being released during an unusual time. The two special episodes that make up this release are focused on the COVID-19 pandemic and other hot button social issues that many may be too tired to revisit anytime soon. Yet, it does find some incredibly funny moments that tap into the classic things you want from South Park. With the sheer brevity of the season, it feels lacking in a way that other seasons do not, but when viewed on their own these two episodes deliver some solid laughs. Paramount Home Entertainment has released this latest season on Blu-Ray with a terrific A/V presentation but nothing in the way of special features. Fans of the series should be pleased with the presentation. Recommended
