Now that Avengers: Endgame has hit the big screen (and is dominating the box office), Spider-Man: Far From Home is next on the MCU list. Not too long ago, a picture was released by EW of Jake Gyllenhaal’s Mysterio and Tom Holland’s Peter Parker on screen together. Things are a little confusing considering, in the comics; Mysterio is a villain, but this movie is pegging him as an ally of Nick Fury. We do know, though; that Mysterio is a master of illusions, so there’s no doubt that that twist is probably coming to come up in the movie at some point.
As for Holland and Gyllenhaal, the two actors have fantastic chemistry, with Holland having expressed how much he had previously wanted to work with the other actor:
“If you look at any interview I’ve ever done prior to this movie and someone asked me, ‘Who would you work with if you could work with any actor?’ I would’ve said Jake Gyllenhaal. And when I found out it was him, I was stoked, but also really nervous. But Jake absolutely was more than I ever could have expected.” Holland told EW.
Director Watts also commented, lightheartedly; that how well Gyllenhaal and Holland got along occasionally caused problems:
“Sometimes they would crack each other up, and we could not get through takes occasionally,” Watts said with a laugh. “It was a problem!”
Spider-Man: Far From Home hits theaters July 2nd.
