Square Enix and Eidos-Montréal are working on a Guardians of the Galaxy video game. The game was officially announced during the “Square Enix Presents” E3 stream, where the first trailer also debuted.
In the game, players will control Star-Lord as they battle a variety of Marvel villains – including Lady Hellbender. Other characters appearing in the game include Gamora, Rocket Raccoon, Groot, Drax, Mantis, and Cosmo. In addition to plenty of action, the game will feature choice-based decisions that will impact players’ experiences. According to the developers, the game’s core story will remain the same. But certain decisions will have consequences on Star-Lord’s relationship with the other characters and players’ overall journey throughout the game.
Much of the game’s plot remains under wraps. But the developers noted that the story is an original one from the Eidos-Montréal team, and not based on a pre-existing story.

The Guardians of the Galaxy game comes out on October 26, 2021, for the PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
