Video Quality
Star Trek: Prodigy – Season One, Volume Two arrives on Blu-Ray with a gorgeous transfer that looks very nice throughout these ten episodes. Distinct lines and details are crisp, clean, and maintained well without any hint of bleeding. There are not any egregious issues with banding or crush in the deep blacks. Highlights likewise remain firm with no blooming at play. Colors are vibrant and bold with perfect saturation throughout this half of the season due to the locations visited. This is a pristine presentation free of any digital anomalies or debris. The animation style is in line with what you would expect for a youth-driven audience, and this set presents this style as intended. With the series being removed from Paramount+, we are grateful to have this one on physical media looking better than it ever has before.
Audio Quality
The Blu-Ray comes with a perfectly realized DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio lossless soundtrack that brings this rich soundscape to your living room. Dialogue is the focus with a crisp, clear presentation in the center speaker that subtly creeps into surrounds during moments when the characters are moving through the different environments. The triumphant score is immersive as it raises the stakes of scenes with full saturation of the room. The show implements a complex array of environmental effects that are directionally adept within the mix. The cavalcade of sound effects and various active moments provide a nice boost to the low end that is appreciated. This release from Paramount delivers a journey with flawless fidelity. This release comes with optional English SDH, German, Spanish and French subtitles.

Star Trek: Prodigy is an exciting continuation of a series that may be playing for the younger members of the audience, but proves to be a fun time for all ages. The characters are a bit more firmly established as we enter this stretch of the narrative which allows a deeper exploration of who they are and where we hope to see them end up. These characters have already quickly endeared themselves to us in a significant way. The series continues to tell a story that draws upon the deep history of the franchise while offering something new destined to create the next generation of loyal fans. CBS Home Entertainment has provided a Blu-Ray that delivers a great A/V presentation and a couple of entertaining special features. This series has had a rough go in the streaming world, so if you are a fan you should definitely add this to your collection so you never have to risk missing out on it again. Recommended
