Mark Hamill made his return to the Star Wars franchise with Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Having popularized the role of Luke Skywalker, it has become one of his most well-known characters throughout his acting career. While Disney has stated that they will take a break after The Rise of Skywalker, it doesn’t mean that the studio is done with the franchise. It will just be the wrap-up of the Skywalker story.
Hamill himself hopes that this will be the farewell to the character of Luke. After all, every story must end. Though his character should have met his end in The Last Jedi, it seems he will return for The Rise of Skywalker. But, it looks like this is it for fans when it comes to Luke.
