The Bad Batch is here and they are a force to be reckoned with. The Disney+ show is a sequel to the Clone Wars and the first episode is true to its title – Aftermath. This is a direct continuation of the story that concluded in the Clone Wars, which will make you feel as if you never left this world. And it reminded you of how the animated shows franchise is absolutely winning at the Star Wars game.
Order 66 is carried out when we first see The Bad Batch arrive on screen. It’s an ominous and intense struggle that our unconventional band of brothers is thrown into. Let’s slow down for a second – I don’t want to reveal too many spoilers here. However, if you’re a Star Wars fan, then you know what the events of Order 66 mean. It’s a big event for the show to have The Bad Batch focus on in their first episode and let’s you know the kind of feel that this show will have.
If you’re a fan of Clone Wars and came to The Bad Batch because of it, you will be satisfied. The animation style holds up and watching the crew will give you the same sort of connection to its predecessor. Though the show focuses on this batch of clones, the star of the show is clearly Omega. Her character will steal the show and I’m okay with it.
The Bad Batch starts its series off with a big twist, which will catapult the show into a much darker space than you expected. So far, with the animation style and story writing, it’s a great accompaniment to Rebels and Clone Wars. Starting with a lot of potential, I can’t wait to tune in next week.
