Star Wars vs Power Rangers

I’ve been keeping my mouth shut way to long with the Star Wars hate, but no more. In a recent article Adi Shankar says Power Rangers is a better franchise than Star Wars. Okay that is fine since everything nerdy is subjective I can respect that. I love the Power Rangers they were my child I can find the positives in them, but also negatives. Star Wars is the greatest franchise ever, but they also have negatives about them too. Attacking Star Wars and saying that it is simple and has no meaning is single minded. I’m finding that some actors, directors, producers, and even fans having this same mindset and that angers me for some reason. I want to dissect all of Adi Shankar quotes little by little and give my thought.

“I literally think Star Wars is not as cool as Power Rangers,”

Okay. I said this before everything nerdy is subjective, so I respect that he doesn’t think Star Wars isn’t as cool as Power Ranger, but I disagree with this statement. Power Rangers is very cool, not the latest ones, but cool non the less. Star Wars for me is the greatest franchise of all time.

“Power Rangers is not about good versus evil. It’s not and never has been. It’s the lens through which the stories are told to us, through the lens, the narrative lens, but really it’s about shades of gray, and it’s always been about shades of gray, and it’s about people working together to overcome those shades of gray, through a single point of view. That’s why the Power Rangers are super powerful. Star Wars is about good versus evil. I don’t know what the empire did wrong. I still have no idea. I still don’t know, they got up and they dress the same and then they (the rebels) kill them because they dress the same, like, I don’t understand it. Yeah they blew up a planet, but that’s a cheap reason to want to hate someone. The point is Power Rangers is way doper than Star Wars.”

Okay he says Power Rangers is not about Good versus evil, but it is. If you want to simplify Star Wars saying its only about good and evil then lets simplify Power Ranger. Power Ranger is about a group of random teenagers getting powers and having to fight evil and learning to work together. Then he goes on to say that Star Wars Is only about good versus evil simply put Adi Shanar isn’t wrong. But lets dissect Star Wars like he did with Power Rangers. By doing that I’m going to answer all the questions Adi Shankar doesn’t know.

First he Adi says, “I don’t know what the empire did wrong. I still have no idea.”

The Empire did nothing wrong they were all lied to by the Palpatine, A Sith the empire believed what they were doing was right, but in reality it was wrong. This is actually pretty cool Palpatine is pretty much Satan that created the greatest lie ever known.

Adi next question is, “I still don’t know, they got up and they dress the same and then they (the rebels) kill them because they dress the same, like, I don’t understand it.”

Okay think of this. The arm forces all dress the same and go to war with each other with no reason why. Thats the same with Star Wars they don’t know what they are doing is right. We all just follow orders. Watch the Clone Wars series it clears this question up perfectly.

Aldi says, “that blowing up a planet is a cheap way to want revenge.” I would say ok lets say you go to another planet and the enemy destroys your planet family and friends included. You wouldn’t want revenge? Destroying a planet is cheap? Maybe it’s cheap because it was done multiple times, but the first time it was done it had a very strong impact.

Power Rangers is a great franchise, but it holds nothing to Star Wars (in my opinion). There is a lot I can say about this matter, but I feel that I’m just rambling on so I want to ask you all two questions.

What is your favorite franchise and why?
