As a Twitch streamer (or a streamer in general), donations are a big part of the money that you make. Meaning you would probably want large donations per stream. Unfortunately, there are times that it might be best to not accept the donation all together – especially when that donation is given with some sort of uncomfortable stipulation. This has happened to Pokimane, who has announced that she would be capping the donations that fans can send her. Pokimane has capped her donations to $5 per person. Look below:
worked with @streamlabs to create a donation cap of $5 for my channel!
Thank you for supporting me to the point where I consider anything more than that unnecessary. To anyone that was more generous- please support growing channels, charities, and treat yourselves.❤️😊 pic.twitter.com/QhrusbDFxD

Pokimane had previously announced a multi-year deal with Twitch, so she probably doesn’t need the donations as much as smaller channels do.
According to Ashray Urs, the head of Streamlabs, this was the first time a streamer has asked for the ability to cap donations:
“While Pokimane was the first to do it, we see this appealing to other established streamers. We are exploring ways streamers can cap donations and send any amount in excess directly to a charity of their choice.”
What do you think about Pokimane’s decision?
