Cue the #ReleaseTheAyerCut movement, because Suicide Squad director David Ayer recently took to the internet to discuss his movie, which received very mixed reviews. While I certainly enjoyed the movie, there were many who didn’t and it seems that what we saw in theaters was vastly different than what the director had intended it to be.
Two different characters. Harley’s arc was vastly simplified. It’s fun to play “gotcha” but remember released film was very different from original assembly.

Margot Robbie’s performance as Harley Quinn was one of the aspects of Suicide Squad, though; that was praised. No matter what critics felt about the movie, everyone essentially picked Robbie as probably the best thing about Suicide Squad. I can understand Enchantress’ role or The Joker’s lack of screen time being criticised, but Harley Quinn was one of the things that needed to remain the same.
What are your thoughts about Suicide Squad? Are you like me who is actually excited for a sequel?
