Supergirl Solo Film Might Be Taking Place During The 1970s

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”5852″ img_size=”655×365″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]With a Supergirl movie in the works, it seems that DCEU’s way of introducing Kara Danvers will be with an origin story set in the 1970s. This solo film’s script has been written by Oren Uziel and it’s reported that Warners Bros. is looking for a female director to tackle this movie. This would follow the trend of getting female directors to lead female-centered movies like Patty Jenkins for Wonder woman and Wonder Woman 1984. With Henry Cavill’s future in the DC Extended Universe up in the air, the studio wanted to move forward with a Supergirl project.

This origin story would also make it pretty impossible for Cavill’s Superman and Supergirl to meet up. This would mean she arrived on Earth before her cousin Kal-El, which is not the case in the traditional comic book story. This would probably cause some inconsistencies in the DCEU, such as where was she for all this time and why doesn’t she have a relationship with her cousin Superman? It would be something that the studio would have to consider, so we’ll have to see how this plays out with the timeline.

As we hear more, we’ll keep you posted![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
