‘Superman: The Movie’ Get UHD Treatment

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s the 40th film anniversary of Superman: The Movie. The movie that essentially defined the superhero genre is coming to Blu-Ray for the first time, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment recently announced. This 4k Ultra HD Blu-Ray disc will feature Dolby VisionTM HDR that definitely was not available when the movie first released in 1978, which now expands the color palette and makes the imagery richer. This is a fantastic gift for any Superman fans out there, both young and old.

Superman: The Movie starred Christopher Reeves as Clark Kent/Superman, Marlon Brando as Jor-El, Academy Award winner Gene Hackman as Lex Luthor, Margot Kidder as Lois Lane, and was directed by Richard Donner (The Goonies, Lethal Weapon, The Lost Boys).

Still a great movie all these decades later, even the president of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige sang its praises:

“What I do know is, they’re great characters. They’re great characters, they’re good comics, they’ve got great history. I’m not shy about saying, Richard Donner’s Superman I still think is the paradigm by which we all still should follow. It’s all there.”

Superman: The Movie will be released November 6th on Blu-Ray.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”6894″ img_size=”600×750″ add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
