Taika Waititi Says Thor: Love and Thunder Will be ‘Bigger and Louder’ Than Thor: Ragnarok

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”22643″ img_size=”640×359″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]Taika Waititi brought a breath of fresh air to the Thor franchise and while most of the MCU solo movies had only trilogies, the popularity of Thor: Ragnarok made it where Marvel had no choice but to give fans a fourth Thor. Now we will have Thor: Love and Thunder. Taika will return for the film, but he has a lot going on. From his successful JoJo Rabbit, to James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad, and his upcoming soccer film, Waititi is a busy man.

That being said, Waititi has big plans for the fourth Thor. According to an interview, Waititi has completed his first script for Love and Thunder. The filmmaker promises that this sequel will outdo Ragnarok:

“It’s going to be bigger and louder and more bombastic. It’s only interesting to me if we’re doubling down on how nuts Ragnarok was.”

Waititi confirmed he will be reprising his role as Korg:

“I really love playing that character.”

While it was previously stated by Tessa Thompson that Valkyrie would be looking for her queen, fans should not get their hopes up for a Captain Marvel and Valkyrie hookup. Waititi knows you ship them, but it doesn’t seem it will go that route:

“The thing is, I think it’s dangerous for people to say too much about what they want with Marvel, because then they will tend to go the other way,” he says. “You want to listen to the fans to a point. But also you don’t want to have a completely fan-made film because then it doesn’t feel like there’s any point. You want to have people surprised.”

While Waititi is behind Love and Thunder and has a big role in Marvel’s behind the scenes in the recent years, he will be in front of the camera for Gunn’s The Suicide Squad, but he doesn’t know who he is:

“We’re mates and James said, ‘Come and do this thing.’ James is brilliant, and it’s just such a crazy big list of people. But I have no idea what any of them are doing.”

How excited are you for Thor: Love and Thunder?
