Taron Egerton Hopes Third ‘Kingsman’ Is Better Received Than The Second One

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”10874″ img_size=”768×433″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]One thing that fans tend to forget is that actors are human and they feel it when a project they have put a lot of themselves into is not well received. That appears to be the case for Taron Egerton where the Kingsman sequel the Golden Circle is concerned. He explained his feelings about the sequel as well as his hopes for the third film in the Kingsman saga, even though he is not involved on the project.

I would like the third one to be better received than the second one was. I felt we got a bit of an unfair kicking if I’m totally honest. I think in some respects it was [difficult] because I just gave everything to it, and then it was so quickly torn down, that I think I did feel a bit of a sting. I think in some respects it probably wasn’t quite as well put-together a film as the first one, but it certainly wasn’t a bad film. And when we got this real kicking- I think what I would like to happen is for us to do a third one and for it to feel like a worthy third installment to what has been a great part of my life.

Although Egerton is not appearing in this present sequel, he would eventually like to return to that world, after some time has passed. He would like to return after 10 or 15 years had passed and pass on the mantle to another young agent. In a sense taking on the Colin Firth role of passing the torch to the next generation of Kingsman.

My dream for it would be that I would kind of hang up my suit for 10, 15 years and then come back and pass the mantle on. I think that would be fun. We’d have to take a step away from it for a while before we did that. For me that would be the perfect way to wrap up what has been a huge, huge part of my life.

Until that happens, Eagerton has been busy as he is now appearing in Robin Hood along with Jamie Fox (although if Box Office receipts are an indication, he might be getting set for another disappointment) and he will also be appearing in the upcoming biopic Rocketman about music icon Elton John.

Do you feel Egerton was right about the 2nd Kingsman film not getting a fair shake? Do you have better hopes for the third film in the series? Share your thought with us at GVNation.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
