Taylor Swift called out the Netflix series Ginny & Georgia earlier today over Twitter for a sexist joke at her expense. She tweeted a picture of a dark still with the subtitled dialogue at the bottom, “What do you care? You go through men faster than Taylor Swift.” and then responded:
“Hey Ginny & Georgia, 2010 called and it wants its lazy, deeply sexist joke back. How about we stop degrading hard working women by defining this horse shit as FuNnY. Also, Netflix after Miss Americana this outfit doesn’t look cute on you. Happy Women’s History Month I guess”

This tweet comes after Netflix just bought and premiered Swift’s documentary, Miss Americana, last January and her concert film, Taylor Swift: Reputation Stadium Tour, in December 2018. Taylor has had to deal with countless sexist remarks and “jokes” at her expense during the entirety of her career thus far, so it is easy to see her outrage. Fans quickly rushed to her defense and denounced the show while immediately getting the hashtag WE LOVE YOU TAYLOR trending.
This will undoubtedly be a crushing blow to the show and its creators with the campaign against it, but as Taylor says in her song “Miss Americana And The Heartbreak Prince,” if you play stupid games, you win stupid prizes. Netflix and the show’s creators have yet to respond to the tweet.
