The Boys hasn’t even come out with season two, but it’s already been renewed for a third season. Not only that, but it’s cast someone who I know Supernatural fans will be happy over. Jensen Ackles worked with Eric Kripke on The CW’s Supernatural. Now, he’ll reunite with Kripke on The Boys season three. You heard that right! Ackles will be joining Karl Urban and the rest of the crew, after Ackles spent 15 seasons on Supernatural.
Ackles posted on his Instagram:
“I keep wondering what I’ll do….when @cw_supernatural finally ends this year. Then it hit me.”
Ackles will portray Soldier Boy in season three. Soldier Boy was the original superhero in The Boys. The character fought in World War II and became the first super celebrity in America – a mainstay in U.S. culture for decades. Kripke expressed:
“When I was a child, I had a crazy, impossible dream — to provide Jensen Ackles with gainful employment. I’m happy to say that dream has come true. Jensen is an amazing actor, an even better person, smells like warm chocolate chip cookies, and I consider him a brother. As Soldier Boy, the very first superhero, he’ll bring so much humor, pathos, and danger to the role. I can’t wait to be on set with him again, and bring a bit of ‘Supernatural’ to ‘The Boys.’”
Are you excited for Jensen Ackles to join the cast of The Boys?
