The Boys’ Chace Crawford Talks Shooting Uncomfortable Scene & How It Wasn’t in Original Script

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”27256″ img_size=”750×422″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]Amazon Prime’s The Boys is a dark take on the superhero genre. Dealing with fame, corruption, and plenty of death, this series is already making a splash on the streaming service. While we are used to seeing superheroes in a positive light, the people with abilities on this show are not idols that you want to look up to. The superheroes or “supes” as they’re referred to in The Boys, pretty much get away with what they want. Using their power, status, and money, they essentially act without consequences.

Like Chace Crawford’s character The Deep. Who [spoiler alert] coerced Erin Moriarty’s Starlight into participating in a sexual act that she didn’t want to. He essentially used his power over her to do so and essentially got a slap on the wrist when all was said and done. While fans disliked the Deep after this, the actor delved into how uncomfortable it was filming a scene like this.

“It was definitely uncomfortable to film. That scene wasn’t in the original script I read; it wasn’t in the audition or the scene I read. They came to me, ‘We want to put this scene in that’s in the source material and it’s a pretty big deal.’”

Crawford added:

“We talked about it again and the delicate nature, we just tried to find the realest nature to play it. We wanted it to be a really big turn in the scene. I don’t think we glamourized it.”
