Video Quality
The Justice Of Bunny King comes to Blu-Ray in an AVC encoded transfer courtesy of MVD Entertainment that is quite fetching. The film showcases suburban and rural landscapes which really pop in high definition. Not only do the textural details render cleanly, but the lush greenery radiates off the screen while the overcast palette renders naturally. This presentation offers a stable image quality which captures these locales admirably. The visual landscape of the film translates well on disc with most shots looking stable. Skin tones also look natural throughout the runtime. There is no evidence of compression artifacts or other digital nuisances outside a very minor bit in the more shadowy sections of the film. I do not see how this disc could have been notably improved. MVD Entertainment has done some fine work here.
Audio Quality
The Blu-Ray disc comes with both a DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio and an LPCM 2.0 track that conjures a very distinct mood that transports you into this story. This is far from an action film, but the track does come alive with the environmental sounds and other elements during some intense and kinetic moments. The music is showcased beautifully here with great fidelity and a gently enveloping use of the surround speakers.
Dialogue comes through clearly without ever being overpowered by the environmental effects or the score. The sound design presents with all of the sounds positioned perfectly in the mix. This is not an action-heavy film so the activity in the low end is not thunderous, but the music and moments when Bunny is out cleaning cars gives a bit of a punch. This is a lovely sounding release that brings the movie to life with great care.

Final Thoughts
The Justice Of Bunny King is a film that is easy to get emotionally invested in, so much so that it may have you screaming at the screen during certain character decisions. Essie Davis keeps this very flawed character grounded in something emotionally relatable even during her most frustrating moments. Yet, as much as the character herself can be frustrating, the system that she is trying to traverse is taken to task just as much for setting up nearly impossible barriers for those who are struggling to overcome. There are some rough bits in the narrative, but overall it packs a strong emotional punch which is complemented by top-notch performances and confident direction. MVD Entertainment and FilmRise have released a Blu-Ray featuring an excellent A/V presentation and a couple of throwaway supplemental features. Any fan of independent cinema should make an effort to track this one down when they have the chance. Recommended
The Justice Of Bunny King is currently available to purchase on Blu-Ray and DVD.
