The Mandalorian Chapter 15: What Mando Will Do to Get Grogu Back

Can I start this review by saying that the world needs more Bill Burr? When it was originally announced Bill Burr would reprise his role as Mayfeld – I didn’t think anything of it. Burr was in an episode in season one and as cool as it was, it felt as if it was a bit of a fun filler. As we have seen, though; the show has a habit of bringing people back that you wouldn’t have expected them to. Hence, Burr’s return. And it was an amazing return – completely worth it and he was the center of Chapter 15.

Slight Spoilers

Burr is mostly known as a comedian, but he delivered a lot of heart and emotion in this episode. The dynamic between Mando and Mayfeld was really powerful. Mando, as well as everyone; has a preconceived notion of who Mayfeld is. But, Mayfeld reminds Mando that he’s a person too – just trying to survive as the little person compared to these massive entities who essentially use people as pawns. It’s a really impactful message and the honor Mayfeld ends up displaying through the episode is probably a highlight of the season.

Of course, Mando had his powerful moment this episode as well. We all know Mando’s core beliefs, despite his knowledge of Mandalorians being shook up this season. At the same time, it shows the extent he’s willing to go to get Grogu back. It’s not only endearing to see how much Din actually loves Baby Yoda, but how everyone is ready to go to battle to get Grogu back in the right hands. And away from Moff Gideon.

Rating: 4.5/5

Chapter 15 was clean, had on-point action, some really intense scenes, bittersweet decisions, and epic explosions. Rick Famuyiwa delivered one of the best episodes of season one and I hope to see him return for future episodes.
