‘The Mysterious Benedict Society’ Episode 7 Review – Getting The Gang Back Together

We are quickly coming to an end and things are tenser than ever before. With Sticky finally feeling a sense of comfort for the first time in his life due to the Whisperer, he is drifting further and further away from the group which puts them all at risk. And since Reynie is determined to hold the team together, it not only is delaying their progress but forcing Kate, who is about action, to venture off on her own. While Benedict, Number Two, and Rhonda are essentially non-factors at the moment due to their compromised communication efforts and Milligan is trapped in a wrecked submarine, Curtain is only a few steps away from launching his diabolical plan. With things seemingly falling apart, can Benedict and company somehow stop Curtain from controlling the masses?

Episode 7: The Dance of the Celestial Orb

“I certainly have my own suspicions.”

A huge clash is imminent, I can feel it. Also, all the signs are there and I can’t wait. But for this episode, Kate takes the lead and that means plenty of excitement. The kids have to regain focus and try their best to get the gang back together once again since they’ve been drifting apart. An abundance of events take place as the season is coming to its conclusion. Sticky has a timely realization, Kate’s unlikely friendship with Martina gets taken to new heights but it may not stay that way, one of the kids has a brush with death, and Dr. Curtain is not only exceedingly stressed out but he is even more suspicious of Reynie and might just have the proof he needs. Not only that, but Benedict has some unlikely visitors that force him to make a move earlier than expected. This is an episode with a quicker pace than most as the Improvement is set to begin at any moment. Moreover, Reynie eventually comes face to face with Curtain again, but this time it’s not under the best of circumstances. Furthermore, Reynie’s new companionship with S.Q. is also in jeopardy, and we learn what his initials actually stand for. With the island on high alert due to an intruder in the server room, there is no more dancing around because the wrong move could spell disaster for them all. No more hiding, no more coded messages, it’s do or be brainwashed to do what Curtain tells you to do.

Final Thoughts

If Ms. Perumal cares about Reynie so much, why didn’t she adopt him a long time ago? Also, part of me feels as if Jackson and Jillson have known what Curtain has been up to and play a bigger role than we see. If so, even if Benedict and the kids stop his evil twin, will the duo find a way to carry on afterward? Oh, and Kate I’m excited about this finale and hope you are too.
