[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”9016″ img_size=”1000×500″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]While the first three Purge movies could have worked as a standalone trilogy, we now have a fourth Purge movie, The First Purge; along with a television series based around the horror film series. Each movie gives us a little more insight on what transpired to create a night where all crime, including murder; is legal in America. We go from seeing an upper-class family finding out the true horrors of a night they support, to see a vigilante man seeking revenge on that night, to legislatures trying to abolish the Purge. The latest film, The First Purge; explored its first night, and apparently, we’ll be getting one more movie in the franchise.
While sitting with EW, the creator behind the Purge movies, James DeMonaco; confirmed that the next will film will be the last one:
“I have it in my head,” he said. “I think I’m going to write it. I think it’s a great way to end it all. We want to end it all, I think, in this one, and I’m very excited. When I came up with the idea and pitched it to everybody, they seemed psyched, and I think it will be a really cool ending, how we take this one home.”
With The First Purge becoming the highest-grossing installment with over $136 million worldwide, it would be easy to see why they’d want to get one more film out of it.
