When it comes to baseball movies, there are many for fans to go to. The Natural, Field of Dreams, A League of their Own, Bull Durham, to name just a few. But when it comes to portraying baseball as we loved it as a kid, there’s a special place in fans hearts for The Sandlot. It tells the story of neighborhood kids playing baseball for all the right reasons. For the love of the game. The fact that is extremely funny doesn’t hurt.
Almost 30 years later, most of the cast got together for a reunion to reminisce about the film. They discuss their favorite lines, and mainly just talk to each other. It was hosted by Patrick Renna, who played Hamilton “Ham” Porter, and Los Angeles Dodger Justin Turner and his wife, Kourtney Turner.
The video was done in support of the Justin Turner Foundation serving homeless veterans, children (and their families) battling life-altering illnesses and diseases and various youth baseball organizations. A trailer (see above) was just released in advance of the July 15th release date on the You’re Killing Me with Patrick Renna YouTube channel.
Did you love The Sandlot? I know I do. The line, “You’re Killing Me, Smalls” is a favorite at my work when someone does something dumb. Are you excited to see the cast together after all this time? Share your thought about The Sandlot with us at GeekVibesNation.
