‘The Simpsons: The Good, The Bart, and The Loki’ Review – Springfield Avengers, Assemble!

Synopsis:

Banished from Asgard once again, Loki must face his toughest opponents yet: the Simpsons and Springfield’s mightiest heroes. The God of Mischief teams up with Bart Simpson in the ultimate crossover event paying tribute to the Marvel Cinematic Universe of Super Heroes and villains.

You must remember to take stock of yourself every once in a while. Whatever problem you have, there’s a possibility that it’s not anyone else’s fault but your own. However, if you’re self-aware and can pinpoint issues and you can right the ship. Or you can crash the ship, that’s up to you.

“Finally, a functional family”

The Springfield Avengers assemble after Loki comes to town in the new Disney+ short The Simpsons: The Good, The Bart, and The Loki. The newest addition to the collection of Simpsons shorts, this one pokes fun at the MCU but Loki more specifically. While the short isn’t laugh-out-loud hilarious, it’s humorous nonetheless. Its depiction of the MCU’s Avengers using the citizens of Springfield, with the addition of a few we haven’t seen yet, is the highlight for me. Subsequently, it makes you wonder if any of them are hints as to what we’ll see in the MCU’s future. I can’t help but think cryptically when it comes to Marvel media. It’s only natural for the God of Mischief, Loki to cross paths with the Scamp of Springfield, Bart, and when they do, the family dynamic will quickly change. With its quick theme of family coupled with the fun it pokes at Loki and elements of his show, this short can be rather entertaining. Its rewatchability is high.

Pacing & Pop

Well, since its runtime is extremely short, it moves very quickly. What popped for me was, after pausing, I realized they incorporated some heroes and a villain that we haven’t seen yet. I’m curious as to if that was on purpose.

The Simpsons: The Good, The Bart, and The Loki is now streaming on Disney+ as of July 7, 2021. Stay safe and enjoy.
