The Suicide Squad hasn’t gotten a trailer, but it did release a “first look” during this year’s FanDome. From what we can see, James Gunn’s sequel to the 2016 film looks to be bigger and crazier than the first one. What also stands out in The Suicide Squad are the outfits. While David Ayer’s Suicide Squad looked to switch it up costume-wise, there’s a lot of comic-book accuracies to see in Gunn’s upcoming film.
One that we can see is Joel Kinnaman’s attire. Whereas the original film had Rick Flagg in more of a military getup, Kinnaman’s character dons an outfit that’s closer to the one he wears in the comics. According to the actor, that’s something he’s really happy about:
“It was great, I was pushing really hard to have the sort of classic Rick Flagg look, that’s why I have the gun suspenders on. James always wants to honor the original comic, he really owns that world.”
The Suicide Squad hits theaters [hopefully] on August 6, 2021. Who else is excited?
