AMC’s The Walking Dead has had some really great villains during its run. There’s been Shane, The Governor, the Terminus people, Negan, the Whisperers, and more. While many of the aforementioned villains has since been killed off in TWD universe, chief content officer Scott Gimple teased that a villain is coming back:
“We’re working on something with one of the great Walking Dead villains of all time, and it’s coming together.”
There’s no reveal as to who this villain was. There’s a lot of guessing pointing towards the Governor – despite him being dead. The Governor was one of the biggest villains in The Walking Dead. In fact, I think The Governor is to the status of Negan. Even though he’s dead, perhaps TWD will find some way to incorporate him in flashbacks. Or perhaps there will be a “what if” episode.
Personally, I had always wanted more with the Terminus group, even though they too are dead. Can we bring Shane back in some way? There’s many great villains – they’re just dead, unfortunately. Either way, it’s interesting to speculate who could be the villains Gimple is teasing.
