We recently reported that Sons of Anarchy’s Ryan Hurst had been cast in the upcoming season of The Walking Dead as the Whisperers villain Beta. Second in command to Alpha, we know we’re already gearing up for a season full of obstacles. With Negan still locked away, Rick and Maggie guaranteed to leave the show, and now the Whisperers, it’s going to be a challenging season.
Shortly after the announcement, Hurst took to Twitter to share his excitement over the casting and to share some photos that we believe is teasing some key traits of Beta. The Whisperers, in the comics; are known for not only walking in herds of walkers, but also wearing the skins of walkers in order to hide their scent. Sounds disgusting, but I guess you have to get creative sometimes. There’s no confirmation that these photos are related to his character, but we can all guess that this is him being fitted for his walker mask.

As you can see, this definitely looks like a messy process and it’s a real possibility that we’re seeing Beta coming to life.
