The Walking Dead’s Steven Ogg Lands Role in TNT’s Snowpiercer Series

While he had to say goodbye to Steven Ogg on The Walking Dead and we may have seen the last of him on Westworld, us Ogg fans (Oggers? How do we feel about that one), will get to see our favorite whacky actor back in TNT’s upcoming Snowpiercer series. Based on the original movie starring Chris Evans in 2013, the show will take place seven years after the world was engulfed in a frozen wasteland rather than seventeen years, like in the movie. Both take place on a never-ending train that travels around the world. I know it sounds crazy, but it was actually a good movie and you can check out my personal review here (shameless plug).

Ogg will have a key reoccurring role opposite Jennifer Connelly and Daveed Diggs. Ogg’s role will be that of a hardened, career criminal named Pike. For those who don’t know the plot of Snowpiercer the movie, before the world was completely turned into another Ice Age, a train was created to hold survivors. Those who bought tickets get to live in the lavish front carts, while those who didn’t buy tickets are forced to live in the back carts, where they are dirty, underfed, and children are frequently taken from them. Pike is the leader in the tail, which will be interesting as we saw Evans’s character take up that mantle in the movie.

Ogg is most well-known for playing Trevor Phillips in Grand Theft Auto V and he had a reoccurring role in TWD as Simon, across from Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s Negan. Even if he does reprise his role as Rebus in Westworld, we’ll have to wait until 2019 to find out. A part in the Snowpiercer series is a great win for anyone who calls themselves a fan of the actor and it’s looking like the show is gearing up to be really good.
