The world of The Witcher is expanding. Announced via Twitter, Netflix will be developing a spinoff series called The Witcher: Blood Origin. This will be a six-part live-action series that will be set 1200 prior to the current series. Blood Origin will be helmed by Declan de Barra and Lauren Schmidt Hissrich.

Season two has not resumed filming yet, but it seems that Netflix already has grand plans for the fantasy-world. After all, season one of The Witcher was a huge success. Starring Henry Cavill and Anya Chalotra, this was a tale of adventure, loss, and monsters. Now, we’ll be learning a little bit more about the Witchers, as their lore was briefly touched upon in season one.
