Video Quality
Trick Or Treat, Scooby Doo! comes to DVD with a 480p transfer that looks pretty good despite the lack of a HD option. While this disc may lack the definition that a Blu-Ray would provide, it does avoid an abundance of digital anomalies such as overwhelming artifacting and digital noise. The film features a bright color palette throughout most of the runtime, but it does not display to its most vibrant potential due to format limitations. The disc provides fairly deep black levels for a clean viewing experience free of distracting crush. The animation style of the film is a standout, and line detail remains appropriately strong throughout with only occasional instances of blurring along edges. The DVD presentation is a fine experience, but I would have loved to have seen this one on Blu-Ray.
Audio Quality
This release boasts a Dolby Digital 5.1 track that delivers within its lossy limitations. There is a good amount of activity in the low-end which brings the kinetic sequences to life in a fun way. The track engages all of the channels with panning effects and sounds of destruction that really make you feel like you are in the thick of the mystery. Dialogue is consistently crystal clear with no issues of clipping during more active moments. This usually stays in the center channel, but there are some unique moments where characters are calling from off screen that are rendered well. Warner Bros. has done a pretty solid job with this audio track. There are optional English SDH subtitles included on the disc for those who desire them.

Final Thoughts
Trick Or Treat, Scooby Doo! is a strong entry in the recent line of DTV efforts over the past few years. The movie indulges in a little bit of nostalgia for longtime fans, but not in a way that hits you over the head or feels gross. That is not to say this entry is stuck in the past, as you have some very progressive elements that will outrage people you are better off not knowing. The animation style is a treat as you have a bit more of the classic style with hints of an updated sheen which is a welcome sight. Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has released a DVD with a pretty decent A/V presentation and a fun assortment of bonus episodes that provides a nice added value to the package. If you want a lighthearted tale to get you into the Halloween spirit, take a chance on this one. Recommended
