The Runaways will be gaining a new fiery companion on Hulu next year. Hulu revealed their plans to expand upon its partnership with Marvel Television, ordering two brand new live-action series: Marvel’s Ghost Rider and Marvel’s Helstrom – both slated for 2020 premiere dates.

Marvel’s Ghost Rider will center around anti-hero Robbie Reyes, who, after surrendering his soul to a demon, now sports a flaming skull and flesh consumed by hellfire. The show will focus on the version of Robbie Reyes who was previously featured on ABC’s Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, rather than Nicolas Cage’s infamous rendition of Johnny Blaze on the big screen. As casting has yet to be revealed, the big question on everyone’s mind is whether Gabriel Luna, who played the role of Ghost Rider on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., will reprise his role and continue to seek vengeance for sins against the innocent.

Executive producer and showrunner, Ingrid Escajeda, had the following to say on the announcement:

“I couldn’t be more excited and honored to be handed the reins to a Marvel character as beloved as GHOST RIDER. This story hits every note for me—my love for grounded yet conflicted characters and my desire to scare the $&!# out of people! It’s important to me to find a take that thrills existing fans as well as wider audiences and I believe we’ve done just that.”

The second debut, Marvel’s Helstrom, will focus on Daimon and Ana Helstrom, a pair of siblings whose father was an enigmatic and merciless serial killer. The show will follow the siblings as they track down humanity’s worst offenders.

Executive Producer and Showrunner, Paul Zbyszewski, discussed his involvement in the new series, saying:

“As a lifelong Marvel fan, I feel incredibly fortunate to help bring this darker, thrilling corner of the comic book universe to life, and I’m just grateful to everyone at Marvel Television and Hulu for the opportunity. Marvel’s known for all the heart, humor, and action they put into every series, but this time around we’re adding some scares to that mix. I think we’ve found a compelling way to dissect some of our deepest fears through the experiences of our two lead characters.”
