If you’re a fan of strategy games then this is your lucky day as Command and Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars, Command and Conquer 3: Kane’s Wrath, Command and Conquer: Red Alert 3, and Command and Conquer: Red Alert 3 – Commander’s Challenge are all now backwards compatible and available to play on the Xbox One. The announcement came in the form of a tweet from Xbox Live director of programming Larry Hryb.

Tiberium Wars was well received by the majority of fans as was its DLC Kane’s Wrath and even though Red Alert 3 wasn’t as popular it is by no means something you should ignore especially if you have never played any of the Command and Conquer franchise and you’re looking to dive in.

Whilst the originals are up for grabs right now, EA is still currently working with Petroglyph Games  developing the Command and Conquer Remastered Collection, which is set to include new, and hopefully improved, versions of the series classics; Tiberian Dawn (1995), Red Alert (1996), and both games’ expansion packs. EA has made it very clear that the collection will launch “without microtransactions”  which I find incredible coming from them and even though no exact date has been given for the collections launch it is the franchises 25th anniversary in 2020 so that may be the perfect time to bring back die-hard fans through nostalgia and maybe even entice some new ones.
