Universal Pictures Brings Uplifting True-Life Drama ‘Burden’ To Home Entertainment

Universal Pictures Home Entertainment has announced that the Andrew Heckler directed drama Burden starring Forest Whitaker and Garrett Hedlund will be available to own on DVD on June 23. The true-life inspired story is currently available digitally. The film won the US Dramatic Audience Award at the Sundance Film Festival.

Synopsis: Academy Award® winner Forest Whitaker (The Butler, Black Panther) and Garrett Hedlund (Mudbound) star in BURDEN, a powerful and timely true-story of faith and love overcoming hate. Set in a southern community scarred from deep-rooted racism, an unlikely friendship forms when an African American reverend (Whitaker) helps a KKK member (Hedlund) leave the Klan. From 101 Studios, BURDEN is written and directed by Andrew Heckler in his feature debut and produced by Robbie Brenner, the Academy Award® nominated producer of Dallas Buyers Club.
