The Sopranos prequel, Newark or formally known as The Many Saints of Newark; has added another character for a “pivotal role” ahead of film production beginning next week. Italian actress Michela De Rossi is an up and coming actress who made her debut in 2018’s film Boys Cry, which was a breakout at Berlinale. This will be her first time acting in the States and according to The Wrap, her audition for the film was her first trip to the U.S.!
De Rossi is joining Alessandro Nivola, Vera Farmiga, Ray Liotta, Jon Bernthal, Corey Stoll, Billy Magnussen, John Magaro and Michael Gandolfini for this prequel film that is set during the Newark riots in the 1960s. De Rossi will play an ambitious Italian immigrant who travels to America, thus settling in Newark, New Jersey.
