Davis’s portrayal of Amanda Waller in the 2016 movie was one of the most enjoyable characters of Suicide Squad, so even though we don’t get Smith, at least we have Davis!
James Gunn will be directing and writing the film, which Margot Robbie is expected to return for as Harley Quinn. Besides this, it sounds like the former Guardians of the Galaxy director is looking to relaunch the franchise and introduce other characters that we did not get a chance to see in the first one. This would make sense, considering the actual Suicide Squad in the comics has had many different people in it throughout the years.
The Suicide Squad will hit theaters on August 6, 2021.
