We knew Evan Peters was joining Disney+’s WandaVision. We even guessed that he might be reprising his role as Pietro Maximoff from the Fox Marvel films. In the latest WandaVision episode “On a Very Special Episode…”, Peters made his appearance as Wanda’s long lost brother. And previously dead – remember Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Speaking about Age of Ultron, you guys remember Aaron Taylor-Johnson played Wanda’s brother previously? The brother killed by Ultron – which was mentioned in episode three by Geraldine aka Monica. And this isn’t like Don Cheadle as Rhodey or Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner where a recast happened and it’s only news to the audience. Even Darcy reveals that Wanda recasted Pietro.

    On Peters’ Return

While it’s a big deal that Pietro is back after hardly even being mentioned since Age of Ultron, it’s with the Fox actor that people have loved. Showrunner Jac Schaeffer reacted to the big twist:

“We loved the idea of [bringing him back]. And then we were like, how in the world are we going to make this make logical sense? Like, how do we justify this? Because that’s the thing, you can hatch a million great ideas, but to make them land, to make them be grounded, to make them feel organic to the larger story.”

    Jac continued:

“This show is such a mind scramble, and because it’s working on so many levels, and there’s so many notions of what’s real and what’s not, and performance, and casting, and audience, and fandom, and all of that, we just thought it would be the biggest thrill to bring Evan over to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.”

    Jac added:

“We thought like, how do we give him this entrance, and then enjoy that, and then make it crazy? And we had long had the idea of the trope of the brother, or the relative, or whoever comes to town and like, stirs things up with the family — that sitcom trope.”

For the full interview, go to Marvel Entertainment. What do you think about Peters coming back as Pietro? And do you think he’s playing the MCU Pietro we know or his Fox counterpart?
