WandaVision’s Fourth Episode Unveils the Curtain on Wanda’s Town

We’re inching closer to the real plot of WandaVision. This review will contain minor spoilers, so if you haven’t seen the fourth episode yet, keep this in mind.

Slight Spoilers

Unlike the previous three episodes, episode four takes place in the world surrounding Westview. We finally get clarity of where this sitcom-ish town is. And who is really operating it. Episode four feels completely attached to the MCU and it’s refreshing to be back in. At some points, it’s unhinged and eerie. We’re reminded of the Snap (I still hate that it’s called the Blip) and given more background on Monica Rambeau. As well as a touchstone to Captain Marvel.

We also see the return of Jimmy Woo, played by the incredibly likable Randall Park. Kat Dennings also reprises her role as Darcy Lewis in this episode. I’m reminded of how great the Thor characters are when they’re given better direction. I couldn’t stand the character Darcy in the first Thor and Thor: The Dark World. But, she was toned down and more tangible here, while retaining her smart quips and refreshingly non-stiff personality.

Rating: 4.5/5

I personally really enjoyed seeing this show from the other perspective. Darcy and Jimmy worked well with each other and it was a necessary explanation for a reality-altering show. However, what feels like a seemingly innocent sitcom this whole time may be turning out to be much scarier. In fact, the episode ended by giving us all an uneasy feeling in our stomachs. What is Wanda doing? And are we looking at the start of a new villain in the MCU?

And also…is Vision alive?

Episode four was the best so far, but it was far too short. I need more. I need answers. What did you think of the fourth episode of WandaVision?
