Weekend at the Movies with GVN – Bloodshot Battles The Hunt For First Place

GVN Box office

Going to be a hard weekend for box office openings and in general.  Looking to push Onward down a notch or two is Bloodshot, The Hunt, and I Still Believe.

My Spy was originally  to come out today but has been pushed backed until April 17th. After low advance screening turn outs MWM Studios holding back to hopefully still make some money.

Bloodshot

Directed by David S.F. Wilson, Bloodshot is the story of a slain soldier Ray Garrison (Vin Diesel) who is brought back to life with advanced technology , super fast healing and human strength. Think Universal Solider (1992) or instead of million dollar man, billion dollars.

Vin Diesel is at his butt kicking best. Based on the Valiant Comics Character, he has combat moves that are fierce.

Rated PG-13 to pull in younger crowds to boost box office sales you won’t be to disappointed. It’s Vin the new Arny.

The Hunt

Think Hunger Games (2012) only this time those being hunted aren’t the young vulnerable. Here there are twelve deplorables (films wording) that  are kidnapped from around the world and find themselves in an open field at an undisclosed location.

Directed by Craig Zobel who explores the actions of both sides. There are no good guys in this movie. The hunters lead by a lunatic Athena (Hilary Swank) who thinks she has the upper hand but doesn’t know what she’s up against.
Packed with surprise kills and gore galore that will be up on your screen.

I Still Believe

A faith based love story brought to you by the Erwin brothers, Andrew and Jon. Creators of the 2018 hit I Can Only Imagine.

A journey of love and loss said to be as heart wrenching as The Notebook. Also to prove there is always hope. Based on book by Jeremy Camp, Christian song writer and Grammy winner. After Jeremy (K.J. App, ‘A Dog’s Purpose’) meets his wife Melissa Henning (Britt Robertson, ‘A Dog’s Purpose’) at college he convinces her that God has destined them to be together.
From there the film follows Jeremy Camps relationship with his wife who dies shortly after their wedding of cancer.  Guest starring as Jeremy’s parents are Gary Sinise and Shania Twain.

Still in theaters

How all this will play out this week is a guessing game. Will Pixar’s ‘Onward’ stay in the top spot?  Invisible Man, The Call of the Wild and this weeks release all average about the same on Rotten Tomatoes for audience scores. As predicted Fantasy Island and Brahms: The Boy II dropped out of the top ten before four weeks in the box office.

Until next week stay healthy and wash your hands should you go out to the movies.
