What Could NetFlix Replace The Recently Cancelled ‘Iron Fist’ With?

It has been a bad few months for Daniel Rand’s character. In the comics, the creative team decided to literally cut off his Iron Fist and now Netflix has announced the cancellation of Iron Fist after just two seasons. This is despite the marked improvement in the series from Season One to Season Two.

Right after the cancellation was posted, an Iron Fist shared image was posted with the single word: “Immortal.”

With one cryptic word, has NetFlix opened the door to a new series? Perhaps one that features not only Finn Jones’ Danny Rand but the other Immortal Weapons?

If you’re not aware, the Immortal Weapons are other super-powered beings from various other mythical cities, who were introduced in the comic Immortal Iron Fist#8. They are each a champion of one of the Seven Capital Cities of Heaven. Each of these Immortal Weapons can manifest their chi in different way. Fans were treated to the Bridge of Nine Spiders — the Immortal Weapon of the Kingdom of Spiders — in a brief cameo role in the first season. However, the remaining members: Fat Cobra, Tiger’s Beautiful Daughter, and John Aman’s Prince of Orphan have yet to be introduced.

While this might be a logical conclusion, it doesn’t mean that NetFlix and Marvel might have other thoughts about bringing in another series to replace Iron Fist. Maybe the much-requested Daughters of the Dragon spin-off that would also allow Daniel Rand to make appearances and take advantage of Colleen Wing’s (Jessica Henwick) on-screen chemistry with Simone Missick’s Misty Knight.

How do you feel about the cancellation of Iron Fist? Would the replacement with the Immortal Weapons or the Daughters of the Dragon, ease the pain? Our councilors are always available for hearing your feelings on the matter at GVNation.
