Why Chris Evans Dropped Out of His Role In ‘The Devil All the Time’

Netflix’s The Devil All the Time has a huge ensemble cast. Including Sebastian Stan. The Winter Soldier star plays Sheriff Lee Bodecker, who [like all the characters in the movie] get themselves in a bit of trouble later down the line. While Stan is a great addition to this talented cast, his role originally was meant to be played by Chris Evans?

According to Screen Rant, director Antonio Campos had originally cast Stan’s Captain America co-star in that role. While Evans had originally been cast, he had to drop out due to a scheduling conflict in February 2019. Evans had put in a good word for Stan, after realizing that his schedule had gotten too crowded. This was after Evans had already committed to Antoine Fuqua’s Infinite and Apple TV+’s Defending Jacob.

I personally think Stan did a great job for his part in The Devil All The Time. You can check out my review of the film here.

Would you have liked to see Evans as Sheriff Lee Bodecker?
