Would Hulu Revive Netflix’s Canceled Marvel Shows?

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”812″ img_size=”893×516″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]While Netflix seems to be distancing itself from Marvel, Hulu is strengthening theirs, with new animated shows to be produced by the streaming service – including Howard the Duck. With this news, people are wondering if there’s a chance that Hulu could pick up the shows that Netflix has canceled, such as Daredevil, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist – and subsequently, The Punisher and Jessica Jones, which are not expected to be renewed.

According to Hulu’s senior VP of Original programming, Craig Erwich; the streaming service’s relationship with Marvel is strong and that “Marvel has a ton of titles we’d be interested in.” As far as the canceled Netflix series, Erwich said:

“It kind of just depends on when they’re ready, [and] who, most importantly, is going to be behind these things.”

He also stated [in regards to their relationship with Marvel]:

“We’ve had a relationship with Marvel since ‘Runaways,’ we’re getting into business on these animated shows,” he continued. “I’m sure it will lead to — you know, business gets you business — we have a good creative relationship with them. That’s where opportunities tend to arise.”

Personally, it doesn’t sound like a no, but doesn’t entirely sound like a yes. I suppose, as fans; we need to be patient to see what happens to our beloved shows, but it does hurt to see the hard work and dedication that everyone put into the “Defenders Universe” fizzle out due to big business. But, unfortunately, that happens more often than not. In the meantime, you can catch the Marvel shows still on Netflix and expect Jessica Jones season three (presumably the last installment on Netflix for Marvel content) in the summer.
