There was a rumor a few weeks back that due to the Disney and Fox deal, Fox would be scrapping its planned release of X-Men: Dark Phoenix and New Mutants. That news was debunked and in fact there are reports today that X-Men: Dark Phoenix is headed back to Canada for three months worth of reshoots, according to LaPresse.Ca. The article has been translated by ComicBook.com and states the following
“A surprise makes possible this new record of foreign shootings: the additional scenes of the film X-Men: Dark Phoenix. Initially, X-Men thought they would have to spend two weeks in Montreal to finish the film shot in the metropolis last summer. The stars of X-Men – Jennifer Lawrence and Michael Fassbender are in the credits of the film – will settle [for] three months in Montreal. Now take in mind that this article was written in French so the translation might seem off. It seems as though the film is going to be reshooting the ending. According to Twitter user Christopher Marc, he indicates that the film is basically being reshot and it is not just the ending.

I really doubt Fox would go through all these reshoots for a film they did not plan on releasing and it seems they really want to get this film right since it will be their final X-Men film under the Fox umbrella.
