Zack Snyder’s ‘ARMY OF THE DEAD’ Has ‘Different Layers’ Says Dave Bautista

Dave Bautista has very successfully made the jump from pro-wrestler to film actor. Most famous for the role of Drax, a member of the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He has leveraged this into roles in ‘Blade Runner 2049’, ‘Dune’, and soon in Zack Snyder’s ‘Army of the Dead’ for Netflix.

The film is set to drop later this year and represents Zack Snyder’s return to the zombie genre after his directorial debut 17 years ago with his remake of the George A. Romero classic ‘Dawn of the Dead’. The new project will see Dave Bautista as the leader of a group of mercenaries who go into the apocalyptic remains of Las Vegas to pull off a massive heist. As a self-proclaimed massive fan of the Zombie genre, Bautista wouldn’t sign up for just anything. He had this to say to Empire about the film:

“For me there had to be something special about a zombie film for me to sign up. What sets us apart is the heist. But there’s a whole bunch of different layers to this film.”

Zack Snyder is preparing for a very packed 2021, as he already is set to have the much-discussed ‘Zack Snyder’s Justice League’ released the 18th of March on HBO Max. And not only is he about to release ‘Army of the Dead’ for Netflix, but he has also is overseeing an anime spinoff ‘Army of the Dead: Lost Vegas’ and an untiled Army of the Dead prequel.

Are you excited for Zack Snyder to lend his signature touch again to the genre that launched his career?
