[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”19093″ img_size=”800×450″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]Once James Gunn was let go from Marvel/Disney and it was made very clear that he would not be rehired, no matter what; we all subscribed to the notion that we probably would never see another Guardians of the Galaxy film. Not only that, but that this firing would be one of the most controversial moments within the MCU’s history as it divided people and even caused certain cast members to step forward and state that they wished to be done with Marvel because of the decision to let Gunn go.
Now, Gunn is back. Disney has rehired him and Zoe Saldana is very happy that he’s coming back. Saldana was one of the cast members who stood by Gunn and voiced her displeasure in Disney’s decision, stating now she is proud of the director:
“I’m proud of him. I’m happy that he’s coming back,” Saldana said, “I’m so proud of Disney, actually. That all the leaders right now behind that big corporation decided to lead by example, and spreading the word and the message of redemption is important.”
Now Gunn is helming both Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 and The Suicide Squad. Not only that, but his horror film Brightburn is also on its way to theaters, so not too bad for a guy who just a year ago was let go by Disney.
